About

A Cannabis-Only Accounting Firm in Minnesota

We built this practice for one industry because Section 280E rewards depth and punishes generalists.

Cannabis CPA Minnesota serves licensed cannabis operators and their affiliated entities. That is the entire client base. We do not prepare individual returns for the general public, we do not audit, and we do not take work outside the industry.

The reason is practical. Cannabis accounting is a cost accounting discipline wrapped in a compliance obligation, and the difference between doing it well and doing it approximately shows up directly in what an operator owes. Keeping the practice narrow is how we stay current on the case law, the Minnesota rules and the systems operators actually use.

How we work

  • Flat monthly fees for recurring work, so calling us is never a billing decision
  • A named contact who knows your license, your systems and your history
  • Documentation produced contemporaneously, on the assumption it will be examined
  • Direct advice, including when the answer is that a strategy will not hold up
  • Coordination with your attorney, lender and insurer rather than working in isolation

What we will not do

We will not build a structure whose only purpose is to relocate deductions, we will not capitalize costs the regulations plainly exclude, and we will not tell an operator that a retail-only business has cost of goods sold flexibility it does not have.

Every one of those positions is available elsewhere. They also account for a meaningful share of the examination outcomes we are later asked to defend.

See whether we are the right fit

The first conversation is a review of where you are. If specialist support is not what you need yet, we will say so.
